Your castle was overtaken by an evil wizard intending to use it for his vile schemes! Use your sword to take it back. It might not be able to cut anything, but that is merely the calm before the storm, as you can cause everything it has hit to explode all at once, defeating every enemy in an instant.

1.1.2 Changelog (AKA the "Oops, I forgot update"):

- Added the fireball impact particle shader to the shader loader

- Updated the version number in the main menu

1.1.1 Changelog:

- Added a node that loads shaders at scene startup to prevent stuttering during gameplay.

- Added a 0.1s delay to the scene transition animation to prevent visual artifacts while loading.

1.1.0 Changelog:

- Enemies hit by the sword will now have an orange outline around them.

- Adjusted level 10 geometry to reduce it's difficulty.

- Skeleton Warriors will now take knockback from player attacks.

- Resprited the water tile into an entire tileset.

- The resprite comes with smaller water colliders, which should make dashing over it slightly less frustrating.

- Expanded player attack hitbox inwards to prevent situations where you can't hit an enemy that is right in front of you.

- Skeleton Mages had their animations adjusted to warn the player of an imminent attack.

- Defeating the final boss in now 3 times as explosive as before!

- Added screen shake when things explode.

- Scene transition will now be correctly drawn in front of the death screen, not behind.

- Added a death animation for the player.

- Reduced the range at which Skeleton Warriors attack, from 20 to 13. This is because the attack hitbox didn't reach that far, leading to enemies attacking the air.

- Skeleton Warrior attack animation will now play properly when attacking repeatedly.

- The player now has an afterimage effect while dashing.

- Explosions now generate a few smaller, cosmetic explosions when exploding.

- Parried fireballs will now generate a small explosion instead of a regular one, to highlight that they don't really do anything.

- Updated slash animation.

- The player now has a unique slash sprite.

- Some levels were moved about 16 px down or had their camera limits adjusted to give a margin to the viewable area.

- Adjusted font size on the death screen to make the text display properly.

- The wizard's crystals are now separated from the rest of the arena by water.

- Lighting has been added to every level, improving the visuals.

- Wizard's beam and wave attacks will now completely disappear into the walls.

- When a door opens while the player is touching it, the next level will be loaded instantly, without the need to touch the door again.

- Skeleton mage fireballs now move at triple the speed.

- Fireballs will now play a particle effect on impact.

Thanks for the Windows build! The game has evolved a lot since the jam, it's very cool! Bravo!

But I'm stuck at the level with the bridge and the 5 wizards :'(

I've watched someone play yesterday and it seems like this level is one of the most difficult ones. Which is suprising to me, because I always found the last level before the boss to be the toughest.

If I made a 1.2 version, reworking it is probably one of the things I should do. But I doubt it will happen because I want to move on to other projects right now. (Although I have some content ideas so there is a small chance for 1.2 if I get a sudden motivation burst.)

Thank you for liking the game enough to play it again after the jam ended!

Can you make the game be able to go full screen when you play in-browser? From what I played so far, the game is good. The art is simplistic and nice, the sound effects are good go well with the art.
I am finding that the game has a difficulty curve.. I got stuck on the third level because I didn't know how to kill everyone. And wasn't sure how the detonate ability worked
I think that a tutorial to explain everything would be perfect.

When you launch the game, it goes into a separate browser window and there should be a little button in the bottom right corner that makes the game fullscreen.
